Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Jalen Stephens ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Reframe Journal mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms operate alongside Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where there is a conflict, Apple's standard EULA takes precedence with respect to the App Store distribution relationship.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your own personal, non-commercial purposes and in accordance with these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.

You may not: copy, modify, or distribute the App; reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code; sublicense or sell access to the App; or use the App to develop a competing product or service.

Reframe Journal offers optional auto-renewing subscription plans ("Reframe Plus") that unlock premium features. Subscriptions are managed by Apple through the App Store.

Billing

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the time of purchase confirmation. Subscription fees are displayed in the App before you subscribe and may vary by region and plan (monthly or annual).

Auto-renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate confirmed at purchase. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings or via apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

Free trials

If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of a trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription before the trial ends.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not control Apple's refund policies.

Feature access

Premium features are accessible while your subscription is active. If your subscription lapses, you retain access to all content you have created; premium features are paused until you resubscribe. We reserve the right to change which features require a subscription with reasonable advance notice.

Your journal entries belong to you. We claim no ownership over content you create in the App. Entries are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly trigger an AI feature (see our Privacy Policy).

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. We are not liable for loss of data resulting from device failure, accidental deletion, or any other cause.

You agree not to use the App in any way that: violates applicable laws or regulations; infringes the intellectual property rights of others; attempts to gain unauthorized access to our systems; or introduces malware or other harmful code.

The App is intended for personal mental wellness journaling. It is not intended for clinical, medical, therapeutic, or emergency use. See also "Not a medical device" below.

The App, including its AI reframe feature, is intended for general self-reflection and personal growth only. It is not a licensed mental health service, medical device, or substitute for professional psychological or psychiatric care.

Do not rely on the App in place of advice from a licensed healthcare provider. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, contact emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately.

All rights, title, and interest in and to the App — including the design, code, brand, and content we provide — are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

"Reframe" and "Reframe Journal" and related marks are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written consent.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that defects will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy or reliability of any AI-generated output.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill — arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the App.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total subscription fees you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim or (b) USD $10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusions or limitations of certain warranties or liabilities; in those cases the above limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date below and, where appropriate, surfaced in-app. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time; cancellation of a subscription is handled through Apple as described above.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
